ABOUT TARA

BACKGROUND STORY

  • In May 2012 my life changed completely.
  • Before that, I was a happily married expectant mother due in 3 months. By June 2012 I had turned into an unfulfilled mother who was forced to deliver a lifeless child.
  • She was supposed to be called Tara.
  • I haven't been the same person since. What I remember the most from that phase is the extreme lack of emotional support. Both me and my husband were mourning a loss, yet he was the only one I could talk to about my pain.
  • Friends and family did what they could in their limited capacity but emotionally we were alone. Some friends never reached out because they didn't know what to say.
  • It truly was a turning point in both our lives in many ways.
  • I know tens of thousands of women go through similar experiences every day but never talk about it. Maybe because they think no one would understand. I also know that not everyone has a Siddharth (my husband) to support them unconditionally.
  • That is why 12 years later, in May 2024, I founded Tara- supporting Mothers through Loss, a community support group for women. So that no woman feels alone during the toughest phase of her life.
If you have experienced miscarriages, abortions (missed/unwanted/forced) or loosing a child under the age of 2, please drop us a line at Tara.mothers@gmail.com
